What is WDPKD ?

 

 

It is an organization that :

 

· Speaks for local Catholic women today

· Inspires its affiliates through prayer and action

· Supports social action through Gospel values

· Provides a place for Catholic women to speak and act on matters of mutual interest

· Represents its parishes (affiliates) in local arenas with other Deaneries and the Joliet Diocese Council of Catholic Women.

 

The Western DuPage/Kendall Deanery President wears two hats:-

1.  Deanery President – our leader

2. Joliet Diocese Council of Catholic Women Vice President – our

representative bringing questions and concerns from our parishes and the Deanery Board to the Diocesan CCW. (All deanery Presidents serve on JDCCW Board as Vice Presidents.)

 

The members of the Western DuPage/Kendall Deanery Board include four elected officers:-

President, Vice President, Treasurer and Secretary, plus Commission Chairs, the Immediate Past President, the Newsletter Editor, the Special Events Chair, and the Moderator.

 

The Commissions are:-

Organization Services, Reverence for Life, Legislation, Family Concerns, Church Commission, Community Concerns, International Concerns..

 

The other levels of resources for the local parishes called affiliates includes the following “Rings  of Council” : -

Deanery – ours is Western DuPage/Kendall

Diocesan – ours is Joliet Diocese Council of Catholic Women

Province – ours is Province of Chicago which covers the entire state of Illinois National – National Council of Catholic Women
