To contact any of your Illinois state elected officials go to www.ilga.gov and under Additional Resources, click on Legislator Lookup.  Choose the zip + 4 tab at the top and type in your nine digit zip code.  All of your Illinois legislators will come up.  Just click on the name of the person you wish to contact and their contact information will appear.

 

To contact any United States Senator, go to www.senate.gov and click on Senators in the top left corner of the home page.  All of the Senators will be listed in alphabetical order and identified by state.  You can click on each one you wish to contact and fill out their web page information and submit your comments.  Or you can search by state.

 

To contact any United States Congressman, go to www.house.gov .  All of the Congressman will be listed in alphabetical order and identified by state. Or if you are just looking for your own Congressman you can enter your nine digit zip code.  Or you can find them under the committee headings. You can reach any Senator or Congressman at the switchboard for the Capitol at 202-224-3121.  Just ask to be connected to the specific office.

 

A coalition of pro-life and religious organizations have come together to encourage citizens to concern is that the current bills mandate tax payer funding for abortion.  Amendments to must contact our Senators and our Representatives and tell them that abortion is not healthcare and that we refuse to allow the biggest expansion of abortion since Roe v. Wade.  The second problem with the bills being considered is the necessity to ration health care for the elderly. Dr. Betsy McCaughey has read the thousands of pages of both bills.  She warns that the congressional committees plan to help to pay for the trillion plus bill by cutting $500 Billion from Medicare.  Senior citizens will also be required to meet with a counselor every bureaucrats may deem unnecessary, in essence, suicide counseling (p. 425 -446).

 

There are details at www.StopTheAbortionMandate.com  and at www.defendyourhealthcare.us.  Please take the time to educate youself on these very serious issues that will affect every American.  They have tried to make it very easy for you to contact your legislators through the website or you can always reach them at www.senate.gov and www.house.gov.  While conceding that there is a necessity to reform health care, the direction our government is heading is wrong for America. We need a bipartisan and thoughtful approach. If you do not have access to a computer you can reach Senator Durbin at 202-224-2152 and Senator Burris at 202-224-2854.  Please take the time, also, to pray for a health care program that protects instead of ending lives. We really owe this to our children and grandchildren as well as to our parents and grandparents. Thank you.
