VOTER INFORMATION

On November 14, 2007 the United States Conference of Catholic Bishops issued an excellent document on the Christian responsibility regarding elections.  They emphasized the necessity of voting with an informed conscience.  You can access it at www.usccb.org under Church Documents.  Paragraph 28 states the following: “The direct and intentional destruction of  innocent human life from the moment of conception until natural death is always wrong and is not just one issue among many.  It must always be opposed.”

Since it is difficult for the average citizen to find accurate information about how the many candidates stand on the life issues, Illinois Citizens for Life has prepared non-partisan voter information based on surveys, public statements, and/or voting records.  This guide is not an endorsement and may not be used to advance the candidacy of any individual.

For information, access the ICL web site at www.icl-life.com. Please read the directions carefully.  You must know your own districts.  If you don’t have a current voter registration card with those district numbers, you can call the DuPage County Board of Election Commission at 630-407-5600; or call the ICL office at 630-852-5448.  You can print this information out and take it into the voting booth with you.  Please take your responsibility to vote very seriously and pray about your decision.
