Incorporating Many Commissions Into A Meeting

When planning your CCW programs for the year list the months in which you meet with plenty of space between them so you can jot your ideas down, and review them, to see how many times you are incorporating the various commissions.

Perhaps you are overemphasizing one area and ignoring another.   This will assist you in balancing what is offered to your members.

One meeting may cover several commissions.

Example:  (communication, membership) advertise your meeting by inviting the women of the parish using e-vite, posters, bulletin articles, church website to attend (Minor fund-raiser) - Blind White Elephant Auction (items are wrapped and this could be a silent auction) with the funds raised going to  (International) for Water for Life or  (Reverence for Life). The evening might begin with a (Church Concerns) mass or rosary or prayers done with a leader and responses by all present. You will include (Social) when serving a salad supper provided by your board members or pot luck with each attendee bringing food to share, or just serving dessert. Yes, you’ll have coffee, tea, water, punch and even wine! For (Family Concerns) and (Community Concerns) - here’s a way to bridge the gap in ages by having those who know how to knit and/or crochet teach those women and girls who don’t know. Suggested projects could be making caps for newborns, for military to wear under their helmets, lap blankets for elderly, etc.

May your successes be large and your frustrations be small.

Remember this goal: keep the experienced members and bring in new ones of all ages.
