JUST IN TIME FOR

SUMMER VACATION

 

A very easy fundraiser with little preparation – just the cooperation of your members and guests (and those who like to shop and spend money)!

 

 At your May meeting, direct your members to bring back souvenirs from their vacations. (You may wish to announce this idea earlier in the year if your members include snowbirds who would shop at their winter vacation spots.)

 

At a meeting the following fall, schedule a live auction or blind auction. Each member places her item in a brown paper bag but does not decorate it.   (No names should appear on the bags.)

 

All the bag needs is the name of the place the item is from printed on the outside.

The item could be a bar of soap from Paris or beautiful jewelry from China.

 

You have to buy to find out!

 

Do set a price or a price range for the items like $5 to $10 per bag. Find a member who will act as auctioneer - (preferably an extrovert). Hopefully, you have some members who enjoy traveling to exotic places and bringing back some exciting items.
